Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

In the year 2006 I had to have bilateral thumb joint replacement which took 6 months off for each hand. (total 1 year off). when I returned to work,( I had worked at this hospital for 27 years) They had given my full time job away and made me optional part time with no benefits. They also had a private detective follow me for weeks for "workers comp fraud" and I WAS NOT even on workers comp. How long do I have to sue them from the date that this happened. Also an attorney told me that with having the PI follow me that showed "intent to get rid of me" I am a professional and was a great employee for 27 years,( no bad reviews or write ups). My body is just finally showing the toll of hospital work after 27 years.

The essential question is whether they were required to keep your position open for a year. I am not sure that they are and you should see an employment attorney for that issue.
