Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida

Yearly Salery Raises

I have recently changed from full-time status to part-time status with a company that I have worked for eight years. They have proposed that my salery be reduced by half. This would eliminate all of my yearly salery increases. Do I have the right to ask them to not include my yearly increases in the deduction.

Re: Yearly Salery Raises

Florida is an "at will" employment state, meaning each employment relationship is whatever the employee and employer agree to as long as it is not illegal. Asking them to not include your yearly increases in the deduction would be an item of negotiation as part of your new part time status. Ask - all they can do is say no.
