Legal Question in Employment Law in Florida
Years ago, I went to work for a company in sales and signed a non-compete for a two year period. I left the company to pursue other interests that did not work out. I have been approached by another company to do similar sales as my previous employer. My previous employer insists the non-compete covers all companies in that field and says I cannot work in that sales field and should look elsewhere. What are my options?

You should have a lawyer look at your non-compete agreement. FL law is very specific that all non-compete agreements must be reasonable in time, geographic area, and scope in order to be enforceable.
You really need to have a lawyer review the terms of the non-compete and get more information about the business. Depending upon the business of your former employer and the terms of the non-compete, it may not be enforceable at all or only in a limited fashion.
