Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
It has been over 30 days since I moved from my apartment and my landlord has failed to submit a letter or my deopist to me. By Florida law I understand I am entitled to my full deposit back, but I must file a suit in order to collect. Can someone inform me as to what I need to do now, do I file with the clerk of courts? Someone told me to go to the Housing Authority? Please Help!

You want to file with a court of competent jurisdiction. The prevailing party is also entitled to court costs and attorney's fees. This is laid out in Florida Statutes 83.49. If you would like further assistance, please contact me.
