What does 1st & 12th month rent mean
Upon renting an apartment, and a landlord asks for 1st and 12th month rent, what does that mean?
If your move in date is 11/28/07, would that mean that's the 1st month (which the landlord holds til you move out; then balance left in addition, pays the 12/1/07 rent?

It means that he wwants the first month's rent in advance and the last moth's rent to hold during the tenancy.
