Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I have a 1 year lease in an apartment. I have been here only a little over a month. The former tenant has had issues with the law Im assuming because the police keeps coming over here looking for her. And random people knock on my door at random times looking for this individual. I brought it to the attention of the landlord, only thing they told me is that this person has not lived here in 8 years... last night there was a domestic disput right under me, the man threatened to shoot up the place, he was arrested, but I fear for my life and that of my Autistic son. Can i break my lease and get all of my money returned? I feel that they have been withholding information from me about the previous tenant

your lease agreement controls your rights. not likely going to find a basis for lease termination based on these facts. the previous tenant issues are really not within their control. the other tenant outbursts are grounds for termination of their lease. I would try and work with the landlord about your concerns. that is the only real option.
