Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Apartment broke our contract but can't get out of it.

We have a lease with our Apt complex that is supposed to end on 8/4/09, and they gave us a 90 day notice to vacate by 3/30/09 because they are no longer waiting for peoples' leases to end to remodel the insides. After speaking to them we were told there is no way to extend our time there, and if we leave early (because we found a house and can be out by 2/30/09) they say we will still be penalized - although they said they only have to give us a 60 day notice but gave us a 90 day one - we'd be fine w/ a 60 day notice since that's when we can vacate.

An attorney would need to read your lease to properly advise you of your rights and remedies. Make an appointment to meet with someone now. The sooner the better.
