Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
the apartment complex i just moved out of was taken over by a different company while i lived there and they are saying that the old owner kept all of the security deposits and that i would have to call them to get it back. so i called and have left about ten messages without a return call in the last couple of months. so now i am getting to the end of my rope. i am owed a full refund of the deposit and nobody seems to want to give it to me. so my question is.....shouldnt the new owner be liable to pay me and get it from the old owner ? what should i do to get my money, nobody calls me back from the old owners office and the new people refuse to pay me. please help.

I would bug the current owner, but whether it is responsible really depends on the terms of the documents that has it now as the managing entity for the complex. Probably, you should just sue them both.
