Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Apartment Mgmt forget to collect security deposit
After closing out my lease with zero security deposit. The apartment management sent me a certified letter/form for intent to impose claim against deposit. The apartment management forget to collect this deposit when I signed my lease. Is this legal to request a claim on zero security deposit? Do I have any leg to stand on or should I pay the $1321.00 intent?

Re: Apartment Mgmt forget to collect security deposit
If you damaged the property then you owe the money regardless of whether they collected a security deposit. If you don't pay the damages you will probably be sued and then get a judgment against you.
