Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

OUr apartment office has told us that we are being evicted and must be out on Monday (today is Thursday) However, the notice says and only says that we have a seven day period to vacate the premisis. We have never been late on our rent and are still current. Someone we know was arrested in the parking lot of our apartment complex for a criminal crime and because we knew the person (this person has never been to our apartment and we are not in any trouble) that we are in volation of our lease. Our lease states that if we know anyone who is involved in criminal activity we are in breach of our lease. We have never had any complaints and have never had the police at our apartment and we have no criminal record and have always paid our rent early for the past 8 years. Can they do this to us and how long do we have to vacate?

No, they can't evict you with a notice. They would have to file an eviction action in court and go through the proper legal procedures. If they file an eviction action, you could use the above information as your defense. Make sure you keep paying your rent when due.
