Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I just got a bill from my last landlord. It says I have to pay over $600, because they replaced the carpet. I paid a pet deposit and a security deposit. It doesn't look like they used the deposits on the bill they sent me. I understand that I need to pay for the replaced carpet because of my dog, but I also believe they should use the pet deposit and security deposit first, and then send me a bill for the left over money. What is the purpose of the pet deposit?
