Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Help! What do i do!?

Okay my boyfriend of a year and I needed a home, He lied about his savings but we still needed a home so we moved in with $600 for the remaining month of January and set up a date in to which he was to pay the rest when he received his income tax return. I was there for a total of 10 days when the new drinking habit of my ex got violent. The neighbors called the police and they did arrest him. I tried many times to reach the landlord left many messages informing him of everything and begging to be removed and rarely received a response. I had no control over the home and what was going on in it, my ex even changed the locks and the landlord allowed this to happen as long as he received the copy. That was during the same time that he continued to lead me on saying that he has to ''research'' how to remove me from the lease. Still with no responses from my leaving messages i finally heard from him again about 2 weeks later, saying that he had not received money owed from my ex, who legally can not contact me, and that he will not take me off the lease until it is paid. Now im expecting a court date. I understand i signed the lease although i did not want to, but what can i do to fight being sued for a lease iv been fighting to get off
