Breaking a lease

My boyfriend moved from Miami, FL for a job in Summerville, SC. For months later he was let go from the company there making him have no choice but to break his lease. Is there a law that would protect him against any fees for breaking the lease?

No. Getting fired is not a valid reason to break the lease. In addition, getting fired does not then require someone to move 500 miles away. There are jobs in South Carolina.
