Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Breaking a lease

My sister & I want to move back into our apartment. Our friend moved in to pay our rent so we wouldn't have to break the lease. Our landlord knows about the situation but doesn't know we want to move back yet. Do we have the right to make her get out? Or did we technically break the lease?

Re: Breaking a lease

You probably broke your lease, but it depends on what it says. You now have become a tenant a landlord to your subtenant, and, to get rid of your subtenant, you may have to give them notice to vacate and even evict them, just like any other landlord.
