Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

My daughter rented an apartment in Gainesville while going to the University with two roommates that are also going there. The situation has deteriorated to the point that affects my daughter's safety and harrassment is now a daily issue. The landlord has been advised and is aware of this. Her lease ends in August next year, 2012. If she breaks the lease would there be any penalties.

Who signed the lease. If she is the only name on the lease she can evict the other two. If all three signed then I suggest she sublet her part otherwise if the other two leave she too will be o the hook for the lease.
