Deposit for Rented Apartment

My landlord does not want to give me back my deposit for the rented apartment, even so I moved out and no further problems occured. What can I do to pressure him as I have to leave the counry and I want my money. Can I go to the police with this ?

Police can't help. This is a civil matter. You will need to file a suit in small claims court.
