Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Double rent
My roommate and I moved out of our condo we were renting on Nov 1st but bc we signed a lease until Dec 1st we still paid for november's rent. We found a letter that our landlord left on the bulletin board at the condo office saying that there will be friends of hers occupying the unit from 11/8 through the month of Dec. Since we paid for November isn't it technically illegal for her to have other tenants move in? She never even told us about it.

Re: Double rent
The condo is yours until December 1. She cannot move anyone else in until then. You are entitled to a credit on the rent (or payment of rent from your unauthorized "subtenants") or you can tell the people to get out of your condo.
