Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Eviction of tenants and they are new owners
The place where I reside recently was sold so we have new owners since April. They are putting eviction notices on the doors saying that it is because of utilities due to the previous owner that are outstanding. My question is can the new owners evict someone for monies due to the previous owner. Is there anything i can do to not be evicted on these allegations that have just been brought to my attention. The change was in April, if anything , do they notify you then? Please HELP ME!!

1. To evict, you must be served with court papers.
2. The reason you give is insufficient for eviction.
Good luck.
