Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
My father in law lived in florida for 25 yrs. got ill and we moved him to Chicago, house was vacant for one year -house is now under my husbands name, who is the son. I went to florida to fix house and so i thought i had a renter , the friday before i was coming back to chicago the renter told me she was not able to rent it due to her mentally disabled daughters school district that the bus would not pick her up from our address. So now pressured for time i had met some people , one very nice lady told me her daughter needed an apt. or home. So i deceided to rent to her daughter i gave her the keys on 3-10-2012 i asked for a 900.00 deposit because i had spend soo much money in fixing the house. But i told her she could moved in 3-10-2012 but rent would not start till 4-1-2012 for 900.00 and she would have to transfer water and electric bill to her name. Its May 11-2012 i have not seen a penny for rent i paid 2 months of electric bills, because she had told me she was having some issues but would pay me everything back . Now she does not answer my calls. I disconnected the electric on 5-5-2012 another bill i advised her i was doing this and she would have to call the electric company to reconnect , i get a picture next day of damage to the garage door in which i still have alot of my father in laws tools . I want to evict her. How to start.

Was a written lease signed? Where is home located? An eviction proceeding in County Court is required.
