Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Final Summary Judgement of Foreclosure Entered Against Landlord

On March 19th, 2009, a Final Summary Judgement of Foreclosure was entered against my landlord. Neither he or his attorney showed up at the hearing. I, as the tenant, was present and the judge and bank agreed to set the sale date for 90 days so I wouldn't have to move immediately. My landlord is still trying to get me to pay rent for April and is threatening to take me to court. Can he still do this?

It depends on wording of judgment.

Yes -- you owe rent as long as you are there. The foreclosure does not affect your opbligation to pay rentorior to the sale.
