Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Florida Rental eviction laws/process

Sir, my rent of $950.00 which was due on the 1st of Jan. is now 1month past due and I'm facing eviction. My landlord was willing to wait this amount of time until I could possibly get some money for him(I have a $950.00 deposit on the rental that he was holding) Needless to say I was not able to replace my lost job and able to pay him any amount of this past due so he's forced to take futher action. My question is under Florida rental eviction law does he still have to follow the same procees? the three day notice?, the 5 days summons? and then final eviction by the Sherrif's office? or can he lock me out before then? Other than this problem, i'm a good tenant and have kept the place spotless. Just seeing where I stand so I can buy me some time to get myself together and not wind up out on the streets. Thanks, Scott

He cannot legally lock you out. He must follow the eviction process.
