Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

forclosure

I am renting from a landlord whose house has gone into forclosure. I have been here since october 2008, and the land lord stopped paying his morgage since september of 08. Willingly knowing moving us in with out paying for his morgage and pocketing our monthly rent isn't that fraud? Do I need to continue to give him monthly rent while I am looking for anothoer place to live for my family? He was payed first last and security when we first moved in.

It is not Fraud. You have a contract to pay rent to live there. That is seperate from his contract to pay the mortgage. As long as you live there, you will owe the rent. If you are planning on moving, try to not pay in advance and have the last month paid by what is on deposit already.Is
