Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

freeloading roommates

I took in 3 roommates that were basically homeless, including my 49 year old brother, over a year ago. They are months behind on rent and utilities and I want them gone! I have been covering their shortcomings to my landlord but will not continue to do so. How do I get them out?! They have no lease or signed agreement and I have told them repeatedly that they must move out if they can't pay their rent and bills on time.

Re: freeloading roommates

More information would be needed in order to be certain, but it appears that you may need to evict your roommates, just like any ordinary tenant. They've paid rent under an agreement that created an expectation of obtaining a right to their occupation of the house on at least a month-to-month basis, and have now broken that lease. You should consult an attorney to determine the most efficient way to evict them.
