Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I gave my landlord my 30 day notice on 08/12 and I returned the keys on 09/10. It has been 4 months, I have not received my deposit. I have been contacting the office almost weekly inquiring about my deposit! Finally today 01/08/2010 the property manager stated to me that I am not due a deposit because I moved out 2 days before my 30 days! Is this act lawful?

As long as you p aid the rent through 9/12 - he owes you the deposit in full as he broke the law by not refunding or notifying you of any damage within 15 days of moving.
