If I hire an attorney as a defendant and win the case do I get reimbursed his fees from the plaintiff.

It would depend on the type of case. If a contract case, maybe not.

Generally yes. Your lease may also so provide for reimbursement.

Only if there is a contractual or statutory right to fees can you collect them.
