Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Hurricane Damage - Can I break the lease?
My landlord just gave me notice that I will have to move out of my apartment because of hurricane damage to adjacant apartments. They are willing to let me move into another apartment in the same complex and pay for any utility reconnection fees.
My lease ends at the end of November, and rather than move twice in such a short period of time, I would prefer to move once and get it over with. Do I have the option, legally, to break my lease and not pay an early termination fee?

If they are giving you an equal apartment, not without their consent.
