Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
My husband and I mutually agreed to early lease termination with our landlord. We agreed to continue paying rent until a new lease was signed with a new tenant. We paid our full June rent ( $3500) . A new tenant lease was signed effective June 17 but the landlord is now refusing to return 14 days of rent we had paid ( $1633) . Do we have any legal recourse as he received double rent for those 14 days?

I would think so, if you can prove it.

Agreed. You'd have to sue him in small claims court and be able to prove your case.

Your early termination agreement controls. That document needs to be reviewed by an attorney. No way to know if you are entitled to a partial rental return without seeing that document.
