Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

my ex husband suddenly left me and my daughter, saying the rent was paid. i just got eviction papers and they are giving me 5 days to contest it, they say i have to write a reason why i shouldn't be evicted. which i can do, but they also say to put money or the rent into the clerk of courts? that i don't have being as i have been a stay at home mom for 7 yrs. if i write the reasons why i shouldn't be evicted, one being i thought it was paid and we were abandoned will they give me a court date? I don't know what to do in this situation and don't want me and my daughter to be removed in 5 days. can you help with some answers or suggestions please..thank you very much...

Answer the paper and get the court date. When you appear explain your situation with the court. However, in the meantime, you need to apply for assistance to pay your rent etc.
