Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
My former landlord is claiming we did not give notice of intent to end the lease and told my former roommate and that we owe two months rent, which has been sent to a collections agency. However, they released documents to our new apartment complex with the stipulation that it could not be released until we gave notice. Additionally the management company never gave us 60-day written notice, delivered to our door, as required by Florida law. Do we have a case?

Without reading the lease, no one can answer.

Huh? your lease agreement controls. Someone needs to review your actual lease. There is no such Florida law as you referenced. Assuming you complied with your lease you wont owe additional sums.
