Can a landlord give three days notice to a tenant?

Yes. It is proper if your owner/landlord feels you have violated any lease or agreement, or you have failed to pay your rent, to serve you with a three day notice to pay/comply with the lease or leave. This is something they MUST do before they could file a Complaint for eviction. Next you would be served with a five day summons and if you did not properly answer the complaint then the court could issue a 24 hour writ of possession. Good Luck.
