Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

What can we do about ''landlord''..

My ex husband passed away alone in his apartment. Friends found him by kicking the door in when he didn't answer after two days of trying to reach him. (It was known he had health problems). My ex paid his rent on time and paid a security deposit. I do know that; we were still good friends and he's my son's father - I know everything. The landlord took his TV out of his apartment without permission and has told the family he won't give it back until he gets $100 for the broken door. What can we do about this?

You will need, I think, to begin probate. The TV is an asset of the estate and the probate judge can force its return (as well as a refund of the security deposit).
