Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Landlord Isuues
I have been renting a mobile home for the last 8 months I pay my rent on time keep the place clean don't bother anyone out here. My problem is that every time I have a visitor which isn't that often my landlord wants to give me a hard time. No one has ever caused any problems. The guy I have been seeing has tattoos all over his arms and the landlord told me he didn't like guys with tattoos all over there arms I politely told him that I didn't think you should judge people that way and he told me that this was his property and I could just pack up and leave. He is trying to tell me
for insurance reasons anyone who comes over and stays the night they have to have a copy of there drivers license. I don't feel it is anyone's business who I have here. I am very private and it is not like I have traffic in and out of here all day and night. Like I said the very few people who do visit have never caused any trouble. He acts like I have to give him a copy of everyone who steps foot out here drivers license. My lease says nothing of the sort I just don't want to be harassed I am 25 years younger than anyone else who rents out here I have 5 tattoos myself mine aren't as noticeable. What can I do to resolve this politely with him.

He has no right to restrict you from having people over; however, when your lease is up, he does not have to renew the lease either -- so tread lightly and be nice.
