Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Can my landlord keep my security deposit for not giving "PROPER" notice of vacating the premesis? I pay bi-weekly and the lease is that of hotel/motel laws. They say because I did not give 7 days notice of moving they do not have to return security deposit.I gave 5 days notice on monday because office is closed on weekends and no answer to phone.

If you were a week to week tenant, you were required by law to give 7 days notice prior to vacating. Technically, they can keep your deposit.

You need to give proper notice or you will owe another week's rent.

You must give proper notice pursuant to your lease. Does your lease only require 5?
