Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Landlord- Tenant Dispute
Currently, I live in an Apt. complex in the Tampa Bay area and over last few months I've had several break-ins in my apartment. (The complex is gated, but the entry gate broken most of the time and is usually left open.) Now, the landlords are evicting me at the end of the months and when I asked them why, they said it was because of the break-ins. Can they legally evict me because of this? Isn't it their responsibility to secure the property? PLEASE HELP!!

Re: Landlord- Tenant Dispute
They should not be able to evict you (i.e., end the lease early); however, they do have the right to not renew the lease at the end of its term.
