Landlord & tenant rights and responsibilities

My hot water stopped working. Is the landlord responsible for any repairs needed to fix it?

You should consult your lease to determine this for certain. In most residential leasing situations the landlord is responsible for normal repairs not caused by the renter. If there is a true emergency and you have to cause immediate repair without approval of the landlord you should get a refund.

Notify your landlord of the need for repair and ask them how to handle the repair.
