Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Landlord terminates lease without cause

I still had 2 months left on a 10 month lease agreement and the landlord asked us to leave not realizing we had another couple of months left. We signed a lease on Sept 5, 2005 but he didn't have the apartment ready until October 3. He said he didn't want to renew my lease so he was giving a 15 day notice and that was on May 5, 2006. When I reminded him we still have a couple months (or at least 1) he agreed to pay the storage fees and my rent at my temporary place. In my lease it specifically stated that my deposit was to insure the cleaning of the apartment when we leave and we cleaned the carpets and painted and really scrubed that place but he is now refusing to give me any deposit money. We agreed to pay a third of the electric which until March it was current. But he never gave us a bill or any receipts showing the amounts we had paid so he's using the deposit for back electric bills that I never received or was asked to pay. My main question is what can I sue for? What exactly is he responsible for with breaking contract?

Re: Landlord terminates lease without cause

Florida law is specific with respect to the procedures a landlord must follow to use or retain even a portion of the security deposit.
