Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

Landlord/tenant

I moved in to my friends house in November and she told me she didn't want me to pay rent or utilities or anything b/c it's her parents house and she doesn't pay anything either. So I moved in everything went well then she started dating this guy and she just got really different (she's on bipolar medication she's on suicide watch) Her bipolarism started kicking in and I just couldn't handle it anymore she was blaming me for things I didn't do etc. I had a boyfriend in Jacksonville so eventually I moved in with him and I told her I would come get my stuff within a week. It's been about a month and I haven't gotten my things due to certain situations but I told her I would pay her for my stuff being there a little longer, she hasn't tried to contact me or anything so I figured everything was fine. Now I texted her and told her I'm coming to get my stuff and she told me she threw out all my stuff, is that legal?

Re: Landlord/tenant

It depends on what was said and what was written and what can be proven. There will be a dispute about that. Why you would leave all of your property at a place you had no right to occupy when yo knew the owner was not stable is beyond me and you have only yourself to blame here. You told her that you'd get the stuff in a week and you did not. She could have reasonably assumed that since you didn't come for your property that you did not want it. I see no real excuse for you having not taken your stuff whith you when you left or not getting it within the week as you promised.
