Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

landlord/tenant

My niece has been renting my home in Homosassa Florida for about four years, without a lease. She has moved out and is no longer living at the premises but has some personal belongings there. The electric is still on in her name. Can I move what possessions she has left in the home and take possession of my home?

Re: landlord/tenant

Yes, you can take possession of the home if you are sure she was no longer living there. However, you can simply dispose of her things. You must follow the Florida statue with regard to disposing of tenant property.
