Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

My qusetion is how can this landlord make us pay for lawn maintance that they are not doing . My husband maintains the yard & scrubs here . My other issue is how long can they hold my rent check . I paid the rent on the 5th of this month like every month & they still haven't cashed it or deposited in the bank yet .

Depending on what your lease says, you don't legally have to pay for maintenance a landlord is not doing. They can hold your rent check as long as they want. Maybe they'll never cash it and the money won't come out of your bank account.
