Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Lease Agreements
I signed a 12 month lease on 12/28/07. The lease period dates were from 12/28/07-12/08/08 now the front office says we have to go by the signed date instead of the date we actually signed to which is 12/08/08. Can they legally make us stay until the 28th?

Re: Lease Agreements
Look at the lease itself. It will state its term. If it says that it is a 1 year lease from the date of execution, then you are stuck till the 28th. If it sppecifically says that the lease expire on 12/08 -- then that is when it ends.
