Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I have a lease with my aunt. she owns the home. she wants to evict me just b/c she got mad at me for accidentally slamming the door. Can I actually be evicted if I have paid rent and have not violated any lease terms? can she lie and try to pull something shady? my aunt is an extreme liar and will say what she has to say. this is for the state of florida, so any other state will not be helpful, thank you. also who do I contact if I want to fight the eviction and cant afford a lawyer?

If you have a written lease and you have followed the terms of it, the door slamming is not going to be reasonable grounds for ending it. You need to contact an attorney who handles landlord and tenant cases. For now, you need to wait and see if she actually tries to notify you about an eviction. Make sure to continue to abide by the lease agreement.
