Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

lease broken

A guy offered me temporary accomodation in his rented house. Told me to sign the application to enter in lease with him and when I did it, fledge the country saying that he is not coming back making me responsible for apartment. I just applied to be on lease but the final lease was never signed as his signature was not there to add me on lease. He came back after 6months and asking asking me money for lease breaking. Is the lease considered valid if I apply for adding my name into it but the primary leaser never signed it?

Re: lease broken

I'd have to see what you signed to be sure, but if you signed something saying you wanted to be on the lease, you could be liable.
