lease contract
Is a lease contract binding, if it is not exicuted by the leasing agent, and no rent has been paid yet?

Re: lease contract
The lease itself should contain language as to when it becomes effective. Usually, a lease is not effective until signed by both parties. If you have signed it and sent to landlord for their signature, generally speaking, you should be able to "revoke" your offer to lease by sending the landlord written notice of your intent to revoke, as long as the written notice is received prior to landlord signing.
I know it sound confusing, but in simple terms, send landlord a lettter ASAP saying your offer to lease is revoked. Fax it or email is fine, but overnight from fed ex is better(especially if you require a signature so you can prove Landlord received your letter).
