lease with cosigner

my mom cosigned an apartment lease with my husband and I, however, now we are not on good terms how long will we have to keep her name on our lease?

There is no hard and fast rule. It is completely within your landlord's discretion to release your mother from her oblogations under the lease, or to not. The benefit to the landlord is to simply have another person that is responsible for paying the rent if you and your husband were to default.

You need to discuss with your landlord and see if they are willing to release your mother and under what terms.

That said, I do not understand how your mother's name being on the lease affects you on a daily basis. There is no benefit to you personally to have her released from the lease.
