My lease is up in july 2010 an I didnt renew, gave notice to them but they said i had to give 60 days an i gave 20 because of medical emergany due to my son, now they want to charge me 800.00 an I explained what can i do

Review your lease to see how much notice was required. Typically it's one month's notice, but it depends on the lease, which is a contract between you and the landlord. When you signed it, you both agreed to abide by its terms. If you don't give notice as required in the lease, it's possible that it will renew automatically.
