Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida

I have a lease signed by the manager of the complex and myself that states the deposit is 299.00. 4 months after signing I received a nasty note on my door that said I owed another 221.00. and was several months past due and would be evicted if I don't pay. she waited til I lost my job and was on unemployment to post this letter. do I have to pay the extra money if the lease which is type written states the amount of deposit is 299.00 ?

If the contract says $299, then that is all that is required.
