Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Am leasing a 1/1 unit of a 90 year old duplex. The residence is climate controlled by a 1990 wall AC/heat unit and I would like to know if use of this is safe and code compliant. The owner “updates” all parts of the building as they require, and installed central AC in the other residence, but the wall unit is a Kenmore that never breaks (and does heat and cool) yet something about it seems unhealthy to me and I think the owner should replace it. There is no contract.
Must the owner replace this unit? Advice would be appreciated.
