Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
Is it legal to accept 1 or 2 yrs rent in advance?
I am renting out the second unit of my duplex (I live in one). Someone has expressed interest in renting out the apartment and has offered to
pay two full years worth of rent in advance in exchange for a 10% discount.
I'd be happy to take the discount for full payment in advance, however, I am concerned with the legality of this and what other issues, if any,
that I should be aware of. The property is located in Florida.
I would still do a reference check to ensure that the tenant is not problematic.
thanks in advance.
