Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I live in a converted garage apt. I know this unit and the one in the back are illegal.I want to know if the lease is legal, and can I GET BACK RENT. The landlord wants to evict me for pass rent. I've paid 9 of the last 11 months.

There is no such thing as a legal lease on an illegal apartment. However, you lived there so you are not entitled to back rent. You can be evicted, but it's doubful he can collect past or future unpaid rent since you have the defense of illegality of contract.
