Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Florida
I live in an RV park in Hudson Florida. Suddenly, on Saturday we all received new rules for the park. There are too many to list here but it is it legal to tell us that we may not discuss these issue not talk about the management among ourselves. Also they now are saying we can only sell our park model rv's through their own leasing company and must give them 35% of the sale price. Is this legal and who can I turn to for help without fear of being evicted
1 Answer from Attorneys
Take your lease and all of your paperwork to the nearest Legal Aid Clinic. Hopefully, an attorney there will be able to review your documents and tell you where you stand. Obviously, you can always move out, if you don't like the rules. If you have a lease, you have the right to stay, and it's possible that you are not obligated to observe "new rules" if the published rules (should have been part of the written terms of your lease) provide a particular procedure for changing the rules, and the proper procedure wasn't followed.
Telling you that you "may not discuss" the new rules with others? This sounds pretty bizarre, and would not look good for this management if this issue went to court.
